Water Quality Report
Important Information About Your Drinking Water

The Bristol County Water Authority provides drinking water to the 50,000 residents of Barrington, Bristol and Warren.

The BCWA drinking water supply is obtained from the Providence Water Supply Boards’ Scituate Reservoir.  The water supply was voted #2 in the country for water quality by the Washington DC-based Environmental Working Group (EWG).

The City of Providence filters and treats water from their surface water reservoir system. Providence water quality data is provided herein.

In June of 2011 the Child St. WTP was removed from service. However, since it was in service for a portion of the year, the water quality data is included in the 2011 supply year report.

Our connection with Providence is now our sole source of supply and is distributed to all customers. The WTP in being maintained and could be utilized under emergency conditions. Management of the BCWA reservoir water sources also continues until a separate back-up supply is available.
